Each New Day
We are given a new day each time we awake from a night’s rest. 2 Corinthians says “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” The inward renewal and days are given to us not to be self centered fulfilling our own desires but to love those that the Lord has put in our life or sphere of influence.
Lately, I have seen the need more and more to show those in my life that I love them and that I am thankful for them. Many times we don’t tell the ones we love how much we actually do. Loving others is the second command that the Lord gives us. First we are called to love God and then we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves. The people that God has given us must be our highest priority in life, second only to Him.
Loving others like you love and take care of yourself is one of the most beautiful things a person can do. In today’s busy culture it is easy to look inward and stay focused on ourselves rather than seeing those that the Lord has given us to reach out to. When we do reach out and love others, people see something different about us and then they want to know what it is. It’s that we love differently then what our modern day culture says love is.

Motivated to Love Others Through our Actions
“Love must be the underlying motive in everything we do.” The greatest example we have of this is Jesus. Jesus paying our debt on the cross is the greatest act of love ever known to mankind. He demonstrated what love really looks like and has been the greatest example ever since.
Whenever I wonder if I am loving those that the Lord has given me sufficiently or enough, I need only to look to the greatest example and to keep on loving extravagantly. I am not sure about you, but I want the beauty in my heart to be a reflection of the ways I am called to love others.
