Welcome! Each day during the month of October I am writing on the topic of discovering true beauty. Please join in with me on this journey. Also, please feel free to share these posts during the month of October with family and friends on the many social media outlets. I appreciate you taking the time to do so.
I read a quote recently that said “If you are your authentic self… you have no competition.” In a world that is constantly competing, it is good to know that there is true beauty found in being authentic, undisputed and genuine. Today’s culture tells women that if they weren’t born with physical beauty, all they have to do is go out and buy it and beauty can be theirs in any form that they see fit. The list of items that can be purchased is a mile long.
What is it about ourselves that causes us to compete with others? Why are we willing to buy beauty at any cost, even the cost of being completely fake? Why do we have a problem with our authentic self? The unhappiness lies within our heart and in our mind. Constantly seeking approval, desiring what we weren’t born with or made to have has been a trick used by enemy our soul since the very beginning. The only thing is, we don’t have to believe the lie that has been spun. We can be wise and seek the One who created us to be unique, genuine and authentic in the first place. It is there, where we will find permission to be authentically beautiful inside and out.
Queen of Sheba traveled long and far to seek wisdom from King Solomon. The most excellent thing is, we don’t have to travel far at all. All we need to do is pray to our Creator and He hears and answers our prayers.
If you are struggling with authenticity, keep in mind that true beauty is found in being real, not fake. So embrace being real and watch your your influence for Jesus increase amongst people.
