Welcome! Each day during the month of October I am writing on the topic of discovering true beauty. Please join in with me on this journey. Also, please feel free to share these posts during the month of October with family and friends on the many social media outlets. I appreciate you taking the time to do so.
Seeing the Beauty of Letting Go
Each morning throughout this Write 31 Days challenge, I have been trying to pray before writing to see which part of the topic of beauty the Lord leads and wants me to write about. In reality, this means that each day I wake up not knowing what I am going to say or write about until I have received some clarification from Him. For an A-Type personality like myself, this is extremely hard. I want to plan out everything, be prepared and write perfectly. I have to let go of wanting to control outcomes and let God have His rightful place as Lord of my life.
I’m constantly learning that there is beauty in this process of not knowing outcomes ahead of time and that I am not just writing to encourage and inspire others, but I am also writing to work on the areas where I fall short in my own personal life.
I have learned over the recent years that control over outcomes is an illusion. A lie that we have been believing for a very long time. We humans think that we have control, when in reality, we really don’t. 1 Chronicles 29:11 says “Yours is the mighty power and glory and victory and majesty. Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as being in control of everything.”
King David understood and knew that he really had no control over the kingdom in which he ruled. He said so all the time in his praises to the Lord. Lets understand this as well. True beauty is found in praising the One who really does have all the control that we desire to have. That is our Lord, always in control, while we simply are not.

Recently I came across the picture above and it was freeing to read the words “Sometimes you have to let go and be free.” There is so much beauty embedded in that statement that one could expand upon and write on it for hours. True beauty is felt and seen in people who “let go” and are less anxious about this life. There is very little beauty, if any at all, that comes from being controlling and having to regulate every aspect of your life.
I have learned that balance between controlling everything and being spontaneous is the key.
Be free to let go by sometimes doing the unexpected.
Be free to stop, listen and let God breath into your life creativity, direction, purpose and beauty.
Be free to let what will be, be. Stop trying to control every outcome in life. It gets exhausting and wares you down rather quickly.
Be free to dream, explore and imagine the possibilities that come from not having to have things your way all the time.
I wrote in more detail about the “Be in Beautiful” recently. If you missed it, please see my post on “The Be in Beautiful” here.
