Welcome! Each day during the month of October I am writing on the topic of discovering true beauty. Please join in with me on this journey. Also, please feel free to share these posts during the month of October with family and friends on the many social media outlets. I appreciate you taking the time to do so.
The word “reverence” is modernly used in relationship with religion. Why you may ask, because religion can often stimulate the emotion and recognition of God or the supernatural. However, reverence is much more than having a religious affiliation. Reverence is an “awe,” a striking emotion that can also be felt outside the realm of religious practices. Being “awestruck.”

Very few people, things, or ideas cause us to be “awestruck.” Yet, over fifty-three times in the Scriptures we read about the the reverence or awesomeness of God……
Psalm 5:7 But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.
Psalm 47:2 For the Lord Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth.
Job 25:2 Dominion and awe belong to God; he establishes order in the heights of heaven.
Job 37:22 Out of the north He comes in golden splendor; God comes in awesome majesty.
1 Samuel 12:18 Then Samuel called on the Lord, and that same day the Lord sent thunder and rain. So all the people stood in awe of the Lord and of Samuel.
Joshua 5:14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”
Daniel 6:26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end.”
I could continue to list for you all the Scriptures that talk about awe and reverence for the Lord but I think the point has clearly been established. There is something truly beautiful about having reverence for the Lord. Reading about Him, witnessing His awesomeness, knowing and seeing firsthand what He does for His people causes one to fall facedown in absolute worship and grandeur of Him.
The Lord’s resplendence attracts people unto Himself and brings out a beauty in us like no one else can or ever will be able to. The kind of beauty that lights us up from within. A natural glow.
Who wouldn’t want to stand in awe of the Creator of all things beautiful? The One who makes all things beautiful in their own time. Who wouldn’t want to possess such beauty? Just knowing Him and reverencing Him brings about a desired beauty from within. Let’s take some time today to be absolutely “awestruck.”
Standing in Absolute “Awe,”
