Welcome! Each day during the month of October I will be writing on the topic of discovering true beauty. Please join in with me on this journey. Also, please feel free to share these posts during the month of October with family and friends on the many social media outlets. I appreciate you taking the time to do so.
Have you ever noticed the word be in beautiful? A cousin of mine who happens to be a beautiful artist, recently sent me one of her doodles. Upon seeing it, I was hit with the thought that the word “be” is at the beginning of the word beautiful. In order to be inwardly beautiful, you first have to “be.”
What are the “be’s” in beautiful?

There are so many that come to mind but the ones that stand out the most are the Fruits of the Spirit found in Galatians 5 and the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5.
Beauty Requires Lots of Work
Having an inward beauty requires an exertion and a contouring of the heart. The only thing is, we can’t perpetuate this artistic beauty on our own. Just as the potter has to mold the clay, we have to allow the Grand Artist of all time to shape our heart towards beautiful things. (Isaiah 64:8)
Beauty Takes Time
It takes time to become inwardly beautiful. We don’t wake up one day and all of a sudden have a beautiful heart. It is a day to day surrender of allowing the Potter to shape and mold your heart into the image of His own.
Beauty is the Act of Being
Beauty is being loving even when you don’t feel like loving those around you. Beauty is being faithful even when you see those who are faithless excelling above and beyond you. Beauty is being a reflection of the Potter even when you are tempted to mold and create your own masterpiece. Beauty is being kind even when others may not deserve your kindness. Beauty is forgiving even when the other person may not deserve your forgiveness. Beauty is being joyful in a downer and depressed world. Beauty is being willing to “stand out” when others do everything in their power to “fit in.”
So if you truly want to be truly beautiful, allow The Potter, The Master Artist of all time to mold you and change you into the image of His Greatest Masterpiece that ever lived. Allow Him to make you more like His Son Jesus. He will spend your entire life crafting you. He is that detailed. He yearns to spend that kind of time helping you to get things just right. In the process you get friendship, a companion like no other. You find that you are loved and treasured immensely and your heart begins to radiate true beauty.
Working on the “be” in beauty,
